What is a typical experience like during a Pre-College program session?
Students will arrive on campus in the morning on day 1 and will begin by checking into Vernon E. Jordan Jr. Residence Hall. Mentors will then walk students through a brief overview of their time on campus and will take students to their first class session. Students will spend about two hours in their class, eat lunch, have a few more hours of class, and then will enjoy evening activities facilitated by their Mentors and RAs. On day two, students will begin the day with breakfast and then will dive back into their course. Students will eat lunch and have one final class session before they depart campus in the afternoon.
Who teaches the courses for the Pre-College program?
Members of DePauw’s faculty and staff. Current DePauw students will also serve in Mentor and RA roles during each session
What is the cost to attend the program?
The tuition fee to attend the Pre-College Program is $150. Scholarship funding is available and there will be a $20 attendance fee for students whose families earn less than $175,000 per year. Questions about costs for the program can be directed to precollegeprogram@depauw.edu.
What should students bring with them to campus?
Students attending a session should plan to bring casual and comfortable clothing (e.g. t-shirts, shorts, jeans, athletics shoes) and toiletries (soap, deodorant, shampoo, etc.) with them. Bed linens will be provided in the residence halls by DePauw.

Meals will be served in the Hoover Dining Hall on campus. DePauw partners with Bon Appetit for on-campus food service. Bon-Appetit provides a local, fresh, and sustainable dining experience that can accommodate a wide range of dietary restrictions. If you have dietary restrictions, please indicate it when you register for your session.聽
What types of medical and health services are available?
Putnam County Hospital is a five-minute drive from campus. Our Director of Pre-College Engagement, course instructors, Mentors, and RAs will be trained to handle emergency situations if they arise.
