  It's time for the Department of Art and Art History's annual Spring Open House and Art Sale, Thursday, May 8th from 5:00-7:00pm.  This event brings the community together to highlight the creative work of our current students, staff, and faculty in a casual setting.  We hope you will all come by and check it out, but if you need further incentive, here's a list of key happenings on Thursday (this event is free and open to the public):
   
  Open Studios and Student Art Exhibition: All art studios and classrooms will be open, featuring the work of our spring semester students.  This is the only time in the semester when all of our students, at every level of study and in every media, exhibit their work together.  We are proud of their work and their progress, and we especially enjoy sharing it with the community in the very spaces in which the art was made.
   
  Gallery Exhibitions:  Vietnam in the Midwest and the 2025 Art Studio Senior Exhibition
   
  Student Art Sale: Throughout the hallways and student exhibition spaces in Peeler, students will be displaying and selling their own art (including Senior Thesis artwork in the Visual Arts Gallery, featuring our graduating studio art majors).  Artwork for sale will be labeled with the student artist's name, the price, and contact information.  Any proceeds from these sales go directly to the student artist.

  5x5 Charity Art Sale:  Each spring, the AAH department hosts a charitable art event we call 5x5.  Students donate original, tiny artworks (5"x5").  For a $5 donation, you can pick your favorite one and take it with you.  All proceeds for this unique sale go directly to arts programming for at-risk children at the Putnam County Summer Enrichment Program.
